A Letter from the 2019 Fundraiser Chair

Dear Harvard Parent,

I am reaching out to you as a new Harvard parent and the chair of the 2018-2019 Harvard PTA Fundraiser Auction, the biggest PTA event of the year.  Last year, they made over $100,000 for the school!

My son only started kindergarten this year, but I had the opportunity to attend the fundraiser last year and enjoyed it so much, I knew I wanted to be involved in planning it.  However, the only way we can make the event as great better than last year is with your help!  It’s a fun and great way to get involved, meet other parents, and raise money for our school.

We have the big seats for the committees filled with wonderful parent volunteers, but we need many more volunteers to help us with so many little things that need to be done over the next few months.  You have one hour?  One day?  A few minutes?  It all will help.

Please come and join me at our informational mixer at Sonoma in the Heights on November 1st at 7:30 to enjoy some light bites and learn about all the volunteer opportunities to help us make this event a great success!

Thank you,

Lisa Riley

Volunteers Needed!

Auction Donation Chair: This person is in charge of coordinating the ask for auction items for the live and silent auction from local businesses and Harvard families. This committee usually has a lot of volunteers that help to follow up with businesses, ask friends and families for donations and help gather items. This is a great chair position to be co-chaired if you have a friend that you would like to work together with. The main task is to keep track of the asks and follow ups as well as entering the items into the Bidding for Good system.

Food and Beverage Chair: Soliciting donations of food, desert, coffee and beverages for the event. We have a lot of restaurants and wine donors that we used in the past that would be happy to donate again. We just need someone to coordinate the vendors and help with the set up.

Logistics: The logistics chair is in charge of designing and organizing the flow of the event with vendors, band, auctioneer, decoration, etc. The fundraiser will be at the SPJST lodge again this year and they are extremely helpful and will share their expertise.

If interested, please email [email protected]

OR

Join us for a mixer at Sonoma in the Heights on November 1 to learn more about Fundraiser volunteer opportunities.
